Drama Camp 2Happy New Year, Campers!

The turn of the New Year brings thoughts of the summer, and I can't wait! Last summer, you all amazed me by learning such a huge amount of music, and putting on such a spectacular performance. This summer, I wanted you all to continue your experiences with quality American music. After searching for a long time for just the right show and just the right music, nothing seemed like the perfect mix of fun and challenging.

So we have written a show, just for you! We are arranging updated music from the Tin Pan Alley era (very early ragtime music). I bet you already know some of the songs, such as "Give My Regards to Broadway," and "Ain't We Got Fun". The music fits within a comedic story about a group of kids' adventures to find their father in New York City. Writing a show gives us the opportunity to include all different kinds of parts: dramatic, funny, singing, non-singing, dancing, and non-dancing. I know your unique talents will make it come to life.

Drama Camp 1

As always, you will take part in creating the set, costumes, and makeup, along with learning the music, blocking, and dances, and of course playing lots of games! Because this is a brand new show, it will grow with you and your ideas.

I hope you will all return this year, and will bring your friends with you, old and new. I am counting the days until I get to see you all again, and look forward to seeing smiling new faces. Until then, stay healthy, happy, and warm!!

Warmest Wishes,

Katie
