Hi campers!
Greetings from sunny and warm Los Angeles California! I don’t mean to rub it in; I just hear the weather with you is cold and snowy. Many of you already know me, but for those of you who don’t, my name is Josie-lynn Perkins Roberts. I am excited to be returning to Hackmatack for my sixth season as its Children’s Theatre Director. The rewards, challenges and satisfaction of working with such dedicated and talented children these past six summers has filled my heart with many precious memories; I am thrilled to be invited back and can’t wait to spend another amazing summer with all of you making theatre come alive!
I know everyone is anxiously awaiting the word as to what the 2008 production will be. I am sorry to say that I STILL DON’T KNOW! I do know that some of the shows under consideration are Pippi Longstockings, How To Eat Like A Child and Pinocchio! As always we will be having barrels of fun working on our costumes, make-up and our set design. Let’s not forget we will be learning a variety of musical numbers with choreography to help make 2008 production visually brilliant.
If spending your summer performing at a professional theatre company, meeting and working with professional actors and actresses, and learning the “tricks of the trade” sounds like a fun way to spend your summer, this is for you! I invite each of you who have attended our camp in the past to please come and join us again. For those of you who are still thinking about becoming a part of the Hackmatack summer experience, I strongly encourage you to give it a try. I promise that your days will be filled with laughter, excitement, and new adventure. Most of all you will have the opportunity to make new, life-long friendships and learn all about the theatre at the same time.
Please, come and join us in 2008 for an exciting musical theatre adventure!
Sincerely,
Josie P. Roberts
